Larry Boehmer graduated from The University of Nebraska
with a Master of Fine Arts Degree, and became manager
of
the Zoo Bar in November 1974.......and the rest is history!
Over the last 27 years, the Zoo Bar has become nationally
renowned
and received countless awards. In 1996, "Blues
Revue" magazine
named the Zoo Bar one of the top 20 blues clubs in the
United
States.
Also a great bass player, Larry has played and recorded
with The
Heartmurmurs, Tablerockers, and Not All There.
He will be
turning over the reins of the Zoo Bar and retiring to
the "good life"
in Arkansas later this year....Nebraska will miss him!
